Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is looking for a meticulous and creative Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering department in Birmingham . In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing innovative electrical designs for a diverse range of products and systems. You will work closely with product development teams to transform ideas into functional, reliable, and cost-effective electrical solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts for new product designs and system upgrades.
• Perform component selection, evaluation, and sourcing to ensure optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and availability.
• Conduct design verification and validation testing, including prototyping and functional testing, to ensure designs meet requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) compliant.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues encountered during development, testing, and production phases.
• Research and evaluate new electrical components, technologies, and design methodologies to continuously improve product offerings.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical design, focusing on embedded systems or power electronics.
• Proficiency with ECAD software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or OrCAD.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
• Experience with microcontroller-based systems and firmware integration.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to clearly articulate technical concepts.
