About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Electrical Design Engineer to join their established engineering department in Birmingham . You will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for a range of innovative products. This role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute effectively while maintaining a good work-life balance. You will work closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines to bring new concepts from initial design through to production, ensuring all electrical aspects meet stringent quality and performance standards within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for new and existing products.
- Select appropriate electrical components and ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct electrical testing and validation, analyzing results to identify and resolve design issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to facilitate smooth production and assembly of electrical systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports and user manuals.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and industry trends in electrical engineering.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical design or a related engineering role.
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical).
- Knowledge of power electronics, control systems, and PLCs is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
