Electrical Design Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Technician to contribute to their engineering team based in Southampton . This role is vital in supporting the design and development of electrical systems by creating precise technical drawings and documentation. You will work closely with Electrical Engineers to translate concepts into tangible schematics and ensure all designs meet the required specifications and standards. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software .
• Assist Electrical Engineers in the design and development of electrical control systems.
• Ensure all technical drawings and documentation comply with company standards and industry regulations.
• Conduct basic testing and verification of electrical components and sub-assemblies.
• Maintain and update the electrical design database and drawing library.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to resolve design-related queries.

Requirements

• HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Design Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software.
• Good understanding of electrical principles and components.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
