About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Technician to support their engineering team in Derby, Derbyshire . This role focuses on the practical application of electrical design principles, assisting in the creation and modification of electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation. You will work closely with Electrical Engineers to translate concepts into tangible designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Produce and modify detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layout plans using CAD software.
- Assist in the selection and specification of electrical components and equipment.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
- Support engineers in design reviews, providing technical input and feedback.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing registers and documentation libraries.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing and installation.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience as an Electrical Design Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of electrical principles, components, and power systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a hybrid working schedule.
