NRL are supporting SeAH Wind on their search for an Electrical Engineer (Automation/PLC Eng)
You will join the team behind the world’s largest XXL monopile manufacturing facility in Middlesbrough. SeAH Wind have built the world’s largest XXL monopile factory to support the global offshore wind industry — and they're looking for a skilled Automation/PLC Engineer to help shape their future.
Electrical Engineer (Automation/PLC) – Middlesbrough Join our Maintenance team as an experienced and driven Electrical Engineer (Automation/PLC) responsible for industrial automation, electrical controls and machine integration at our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing site in Middlesbrough. This position is ideal for a technically skilled engineer looking to take ownership of automation systems and support the smooth operation of advanced production equipment across the facility.
Location This role is based in Middlesbrough, working on‑site within our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Serve as the site’s subject matter expert for electrical automation, controls and machine integration. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and PLC‑related faults across automated production equipment. Optimise machine performance and support the commissioning of new production lines. Develop, modify and optimise PLC and HMI programs to enhance safety, reliability and efficiency. Lead and support control system improvement projects and equipment upgrades. Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance activities, performing root cause analysis to eliminate recurring faults. Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams including Maintenance, Production, Engineering and suppliers. Provide expert technical guidance and support to colleagues, sharing knowledge to strengthen automation capability.Must‑have Requirements
A minimum of a relevant BTEC or HNC qualification in Electrical or Automation Engineering; a degree would be advantageous. Proven PLC programming and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, electrical controls and production line integration. Hands‑on experience with control panels, cabling, servo drives, logic controllers and electrical fault‑finding. Sound knowledge of electrical schematics, safety standards and machinery regulations. Excellent analytical, technical and communication skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.Nice‑to‑have Skills
Experience designing or developing control system software. Knowledge of both high and low voltage systems.
