Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor 📍 Guernsey, Channel Islands (with occasional travel to Alderney and Jersey) 🕒 Full-time, permanent, 38 hours per week

BTP Recruit is working with a well-established construction materials business in the Channel Islands. They’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor to look after the electrical side of their operations across their Guernsey sites.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You’ll be the go-to electrical expert on site and advise site management on electrical and safety matters. You’ll work from design and installation through to maintenance, inspection and testing.

What you’ll be doing 🔹 Acting as Site Electrical Support under the company’s Electrical Safety Management System 🔹 Designing, installing, operating, repairing and maintaining electrical systems, including inspection and testing 🔹 Carrying out thorough risk assessments before any work starts, so everything is done safely and in line with health and safety legislation 🔹 Prioritising and fixing defects found in PAT and fixed LV installation inspections, working with the site manager 🔹 Supervising and mentoring apprentices so they get proper training 🔹 Keeping electrical diagrams, log books and system records accurate and up to date

What we’re looking for ✅ Qualified electrician (time-served, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) ✅ Current 18th Edition (BS 7671) and Inspection & Testing qualifications ✅ Experience in industrial, plant or heavy-site environments ✅ A safety-first mindset and solid knowledge of electrical safety systems ✅ Confident advising managers and supervising junior staff ✅ Willing to travel to Alderney and Jersey occasionally
