Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of their state-of-the-art facilities in Sunderland . This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining all electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency. You will be part of a proactive maintenance team, responding to electrical faults, performing preventative maintenance, and implementing improvements to enhance safety and productivity. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical systems and plant machinery.
• Conduct preventative maintenance checks and ensure all electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose faults.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies related to electrical work in the Sunderland facility.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with relevant NVQ, HNC, or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair.
• Strong knowledge of control systems, PLC systems, and variable speed drives.
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and general electrical safety standards.
• Excellent diagnostic skills and a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
