Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their operational team in Edinburgh . This is an on-site role focused on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems within their facility. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and machinery, playing a critical role in minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operations. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, including motors, generators, switchgear, and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair calls to minimize operational disruptions.

Requirements

• Relevant vocational training or certification in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with high and low voltage equipment and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts or be on-call as required.
