Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their operational team in Edinburgh . This hands-on role is essential for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of electrical systems and machinery within their facility. You will be responsible for proactive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults, and implementing improvements to enhance reliability. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and operational efficiency, working closely with the maintenance and operations departments. The role is site-based, offering the chance to be directly involved in maintaining critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently, minimizing downtime.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to electrical work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and issues encountered.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls as required to address urgent electrical issues.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation).
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, motors, and power distribution.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations pertaining to electrical work.
• Good problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to fault finding.
