About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliable operation of their facilities in Portsmouth . This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, minimising downtime and ensuring operational efficiency. You will be part of a dedicated maintenance team, responding to breakdowns, performing routine inspections, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies. This is a key position for someone who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a practical, operational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, identify faults, and carry out timely and effective repairs.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, power distribution systems, control panels, and motors.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise disruption during maintenance operations.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds).
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control circuits, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with health and safety legislation pertaining to electrical work.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Good practical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
