Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their dedicated team in Liverpool . This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and operational efficiency of all electrical systems and equipment across the facility. You will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnosing electrical faults, and performing timely repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical knowledge of electrical engineering principles combined with practical hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and facilities.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in control systems, motors, power distribution, and lighting.
• Interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure all electrical installations and maintenance activities comply with current IET Wiring Regulations and safety standards.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and carry out repairs efficiently to restore power and functionality.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, testing, and repairs performed.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Electrician in an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC/DC motors, PLCs, variable speed drives, and control panels.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND) are essential.
• Experience with testing and fault-finding equipment.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations related to electrical work.
• Located within commuting distance of Liverpool .
