Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their operational team in Liverpool . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of all electrical systems and equipment within their facilities. You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults, and implementing improvements to minimize downtime. The position requires a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems. You will work closely with operations and engineering teams to maintain a safe and efficient working environment, contributing directly to the smooth running of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations in all maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a recognized certification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering).
• Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair.
• Strong knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and variable speed drives.
• Familiarity with health and safety legislation relevant to electrical work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a site-based role in Liverpool .
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
