About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their facilities management team in Bristol . This role is key to ensuring the reliable operation and upkeep of electrical systems within their commercial properties. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and emergency repairs to ensure the safety and functionality of the building's electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems, switchgear, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults, malfunctions, and breakdowns efficiently and safely.
- Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems and components as required.
- Respond to emergency calls for electrical issues, ensuring rapid resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation.
- Demonstrable experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing, fault finding, and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and associated electrical controls is advantageous.
- Proficiency with hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
