Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Central London Job Type: Temp-to-Perm (4-6 Weeks) Pay Rate: £30.00 - £32.00 per hour (CIS/Umbrella) Permanent Salary: £42,000 - £44,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour lunch) On-Call: Standby rota with approximately £100 per week payment, plus time-and-a-half for call-out attendance
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a prestigious residential student accommodation estate in Central London.
Working within a diverse multi-building environment, you will be responsible for maintaining electrical, mechanical and building services infrastructure across high-quality residential accommodation, communal areas and associated facilities. This is a varied, hands-on role offering a mix of planned maintenance, reactive repairs and minor project works.
Following a successful temporary period, the role will become permanent, offering excellent benefits and long-term career prospects.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the estate. Diagnose, maintain and repair electrical systems, lighting, power supplies and associated equipment. Undertake electrical installations, upgrades and asset replacement projects. Perform fault-finding and remedial works across electrical and mechanical services. Carry out general maintenance tasks across plumbing, HVAC and building fabric systems. Inspect and maintain bedrooms, washrooms, communal spaces and public areas to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Identify defects, report hazards and complete urgent repairs where required. Support contractor works, isolations, temporary services and project activities. Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation. Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures. Participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.What We're Looking For
You must hold at least one of the following:
18th Edition Wiring Regulations NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Installation NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & HeatingYou will also have:
3-5 years' experience within building maintenance, facilities management or property maintenance. Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills. Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems. Experience within residential, student accommodation, hospitality, education or similar environments. A proactive approach and strong problem-solving ability. Good communication and organisational skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Benefits
