Electrical Project Engineer - Water Industry
Location: Hybrid / Site Based - South East Rate: Circa £450 p/d Ltd or CIS
The Role
We're currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer with experience in the front end of project delivery.
You'll play a key part in shaping projects before they reach construction, working closely with operations, design teams and clients to define the most practical, cost-effective electrical engineering solutions across water and wastewater treatment sites.
Duties
Working across clean and wastewater treatment sites, you'll be responsible for:
- Carrying out electrical site surveys and asset condition assessments.
- Developing project scopes and electrical engineering solutions.
- Producing feasibility studies and optioneering reports.
- Defining electrical equipment replacements and upgrade strategies.
- Supporting outline and detailed design teams with practical engineering input.
- Preparing budgets, estimates and technical scopes for tender.
- Working alongside commercial and delivery teams during pre-construction.
- Providing technical support throughout construction, testing and commissioning.
- Liaising with water company clients, operations teams and subcontractors.
- Ensuring electrical solutions comply with client standards, current legislation and relevant electrical regulations.
You'll ideally have experience in:
- Electrical Project Engineering within the UK water industry.
- Scoping or front-end engineering.
- Water or wastewater treatment works.
- LV distribution, MCCs, switchgear, control panels, motors, VSDs and electrical installations.
- Electrical site surveys and asset inspections.
- Electrical design coordination.
- Working alongside ICA / control and automation teams.
- Cost estimating and project planning.
- Testing, commissioning and electrical upgrades on operational sites.
- Working on AMP frameworks.
