About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and creative Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join their growing team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is central to the conceptualization and detailed design of electrical systems for a diverse range of projects, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and efficiency requirements. You will be involved in the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept development and feasibility studies through to detailed design, specification, and supporting installation. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical, innovative electrical solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control circuits.
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
- Perform calculations for load requirements, voltage drop, and short circuit analysis.
- Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials according to project needs.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international electrical standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical systems design.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) for electrical design.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, principles, and safety regulations.
- Experience with lighting design and control systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
