Have hands-on experience testing high-voltage equipment and large electrical power systems?
Proactive Global is recruiting an Electrical Test Engineer for an established engineering manufacturer in Luton. You will carry out acceptance testing on large industrial motors, working alongside electrical, hydraulic, quality and production teams.
What you will be doing:
- Performing acceptance testing on induction motors up to 13.8kV and 3.2MW.
- Monitoring, recording and reporting test data against defined test plans.
- Completing and logging test reports within 24 hours of testing.
- Supporting the development of data acquisition and test control systems.
- Ensuring test equipment is maintained, operational and correctly calibrated.
- Following technical procedures, quality plans and safe working practices.
- Coordinating testing schedules for new units, repairs and spares.
- Helping improve testing efficiency, quality and safety.
What you will bring:
- A Level 4/5 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- High-voltage awareness and practical experience with high-voltage equipment.
- Experience with large-scale test set-ups and power systems.
- Experience using data acquisition systems.
- Confidence following test procedures and quality plans.
- Strong health and safety awareness.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work well with other engineering teams.
Additional experience that would be useful:
- IEC and ISO testing standards, including IEC 60034 and ISO 9906.
- Dielectric and performance testing.
- Hydraulics or variable speed drives.
- Automated test control systems or LabVIEW.
- Clean or controlled test environments.
