About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Employment Lawyer to join their dynamic team in Portsmouth . This role involves providing comprehensive advice to employers on a wide range of employment law matters, from day-to-day issues to complex litigation. You will be responsible for advising on policies, contracts, disputes, and compliance, ensuring businesses operate effectively within the legal framework governing employment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment law professional to contribute to a busy practice in Hampshire and support a diverse client base with practical, commercially sound legal solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise employers on all aspects of employment law, including contracts of employment, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and redundancy.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and staff handbooks.
• Represent clients in employment tribunals and higher courts, handling unfair dismissal, discrimination, and TUPE claims.
• Provide advice on business reorganisations, mergers, and acquisitions from an employment law perspective.
• Deliver training to clients on employment law updates and best practices.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in employment law, acting for employers.
• In-depth knowledge of employment legislation and case law.
• Experience in advising on and conducting employment litigation.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and advisory skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and build trusted relationships with clients.
