About the Role

Our client is seeking a sharp and informed Energy Policy Advisor to contribute to their strategic initiatives in Bristol . This role involves researching, analyzing, and advising on national and international energy policies, regulations, and market trends. You will play a key part in shaping the company's response to evolving energy landscapes, particularly concerning decarbonization, energy security, and market reforms. This hybrid position allows for remote in-depth policy analysis and report writing, coupled with on-site meetings for strategic discussions and stakeholder engagement. Your insights will be invaluable in navigating the complex policy environment and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the energy sector's transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, research, and analyze key developments in energy policy and regulation at national and international levels.
• Assess the impact of policy changes on the company's operations and strategic objectives.
• Develop policy recommendations and position papers for senior management and relevant government bodies.
• Engage with policymakers, industry associations, and other stakeholders to represent the company's interests.
• Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations on complex energy policy issues.
• Advise on compliance strategies related to environmental and energy market regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Significant experience (4+ years) in energy policy analysis, government affairs, or regulatory affairs.
• Deep understanding of the UK and EU energy policy landscape, including climate change targets and energy market design.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Strong ability to synthesize complex information and communicate it effectively.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
