About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative Energy Storage Solutions Engineer to join their expanding team based in Leeds . This hybrid role involves designing, developing, and implementing advanced energy storage systems for a variety of applications, including grid-scale, commercial, and industrial clients. You will bridge the gap between conceptual design and practical deployment, working both remotely on technical specifications and analyses, and on-site for system integration and testing. Your expertise will be vital in driving the adoption of cutting-edge battery and other storage technologies, contributing to a more stable and sustainable energy future for the UK. This is a key role for an engineer passionate about the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer integrated energy storage systems, including battery management systems (BMS) and power conversion systems (PCS).
• Perform system sizing, performance modeling, and techno-economic analysis for storage projects.
• Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure seamless project implementation.
• Develop technical specifications, schematics, and documentation for storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during system commissioning and operation.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in battery technology, grid integration, and control strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in designing or implementing energy storage systems.
• Solid understanding of battery chemistries, BMS, PCS, and grid interconnection standards.
• Experience with simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and CAD tools.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, hybrid team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
