About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and innovative Energy Storage Systems Developer to join their engineering team in Portsmouth . This role is central to the development and deployment of advanced energy storage solutions, crucial for supporting the integration of renewable energy and enhancing grid stability. You will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to testing and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, battery technologies, and project management, with a passion for developing sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop specifications for battery energy storage systems (BESS), considering performance, safety, and cost.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of BESS projects.
• Conduct system performance analysis and testing, optimizing operational parameters.
• Develop control strategies and software for BESS to manage charge/discharge cycles and grid interactions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations for energy storage systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development or engineering of energy storage systems .
• Strong knowledge of battery chemistries (e.g., Lithium-ion), power electronics, and control systems.
• Experience with grid-connected systems and relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in simulation tools and project management software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
