About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Energy Storage Systems Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of advanced battery energy storage solutions in Glasgow . This role is central to enhancing grid stability, integrating renewable energy sources, and optimizing energy management for our clients. You will work within a collaborative team of engineers and project managers, translating complex requirements into robust and efficient energy storage systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including battery chemistry selection, power conversion systems, and control strategies.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, schematics, and technical specifications for BESS installations.
- Perform system performance analysis, simulations, and energy modeling to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure the successful integration and commissioning of BESS projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during the lifecycle of energy storage projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in the design, engineering, or operation of energy storage systems or power electronics.
- Solid understanding of battery technologies (e.g., Li-ion), power conversion, grid integration, and control systems.
- Experience with simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and CAD tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
