About the Role
Our client is seeking a quantitative and analytical Energy Trading Analyst to join their trading desk in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role is critical for monitoring energy markets, identifying trading opportunities, and supporting the execution of trading strategies. You will analyse market data, forecast price movements, and work closely with senior traders to optimize portfolio performance and manage risk. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse real-time energy market data, including prices, volumes, and news across various commodities (power, gas, oil).
- Develop and refine price forecasting models and risk assessment tools.
- Identify potential trading opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to the trading team.
- Support the execution of trades and monitor their performance against market benchmarks.
- Prepare regular market reports and presentations for senior management.
- Collaborate with risk management teams to ensure compliance with trading policies and limits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 1-3 years of experience in an analytical role within the energy trading or financial markets sector.
- Strong understanding of financial markets , derivatives, and trading principles.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel VBA, Python, R).
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
