Job Description
Talentmark are currently recruiting for an Engineering Operative – Research & Development to join an innovative R&D team based in Penryn, Cornwall on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing team working within a new R+D Lab.
The role will support the construction, assembly, operation, maintenance and testing of processing equipment and experimental systems, while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
Salary: Competative salary based on experience Location: Penryn, Cornwall Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
Key Responsibilities
Construct, assemble, modify and test prototypes, experimental machinery and processing equipment. Operate laboratory and pilot-scale equipment for mineral processing research and testing. Carry out equipment inspections, maintenance, repairs, mechanical fitting and instrumentation calibration. Maintain accurate records and support troubleshooting, equipment failure investigations and continuous improvement. Ensure high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance while supporting field trials and multidisciplinary projects.Your Background:
Good mechanical aptitude with practical engineering, fitting and maintenance experience. Experience within an engineering workshop, industrial or mining environment. Competent using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery, with an understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. Able to read engineering drawings and technical specifications, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Relevant engineering/science qualification desirable; mining/mineral processing experience or relevant certifications would be advantageous.
