English & Maths Tutor - St Helens
Location: St Helens Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing
Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an enthusiastic English & Maths Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in St Helens.
We are looking for a versatile educator who can support a learner across core subjects while adapting sessions to their individual ability, pace and learning goals.
The Role
Deliver engaging 1:1 English and Maths sessions Plan lessons around individual learning objectives Address gaps in core knowledge Develop literacy and numeracy skills Encourage confidence and independent learning Adapt resources to maintain engagement Monitor progress and provide feedback
Candidate Requirements Experience teaching or tutoring English and Maths Strong knowledge of the relevant curriculum Experience working with children or young people Excellent communication skills Ability to differentiate effectively QTS, PGCE or relevant tutoring experience desirable Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional references relating to work with children
