GCSE English & Maths Tutor - St Helens

Are you an experienced English or Maths teacher looking for flexible 1:1 tutoring work? Prospero Teaching are recruiting in St Helens!

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for experienced GCSE English & Maths Tutors to provide individualised tuition to secondary-aged learners.

Our students may require additional support due to gaps in their education, additional needs or difficulties engaging with mainstream education.

You'll tailor your sessions to the individual learner, helping them strengthen their subject knowledge and develop confidence.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong Maths specialism.

Position Details:

Location: St Helens Position: GCSE English & Maths Tutor Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

Experience delivering GCSE English and/or Maths Strong knowledge of the relevant GCSE curriculum QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable Previous 1:1 tuition experience is beneficial Ability to adapt lessons to individual learning needs Experience supporting SEND learners is advantageous

To be eligible for this role, you must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to obtain one Provide two professional child-related references
