English Teacher | Full-Time | East Birmingham

English Teacher | Full-Time | East Birmingham

Long-Term Secondary Teaching Opportunities | Monday to Friday | November 2026 Onwards

Are you a qualified English Teacher looking for a full-time position in East Birmingham?

Aspire People is looking to connect with English specialists who are available five days per week and interested in longer-term teaching opportunities across secondary schools in Small Heath, Bordesley Green, Yardley, Sheldon, Tyseley and the surrounding areas.

We are particularly keen to speak with teachers who want the consistency of a full teaching timetable and the opportunity to become an established member of a school department, rather than relying on occasional daily supply bookings.

If you're an experienced English Teacher looking for your next position or an ECT ready to build your classroom experience, we'd like to hear from you.

What Opportunities Are We Recruiting For?

We are expanding our pool of English Teachers for future full-time and long-term assignments across East Birmingham.

Depending on the school and placement, responsibilities may include:

• Delivering English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Supporting GCSE pupils with reading, writing, analysis and examination preparation.
• Taking responsibility for a full-time teaching timetable, typically Monday to Friday.
• Planning engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons.
• Marking work, assessing progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining clear classroom expectations and managing behaviour effectively.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and EAL requirements.
• Working collaboratively with English departments and wider school staff.

Longer-term assignments may involve additional planning, assessment and departmental responsibilities.

These are prospective opportunities across local secondary schools, rather than a confirmed vacancy at one specific school.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are interested in qualified English Teachers who have:

• QTS or QTLS.
• Experience delivering English within a secondary school environment.
• Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum.
• Confidence teaching both English Language and English Literature.
• Availability for full-time, five-day-per-week assignments.
• The ability to undertake planning, marking and assessment.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A professional, reliable and adaptable approach.

Applications are welcomed from experienced English Teachers and Early Career Teachers who are confident taking responsibility for a full teaching timetable.

Full-Time Availability Is Important

This campaign is specifically aimed at English Teachers who want full-time work.

We are particularly interested in candidates available Monday to Friday who can commit to a consistent teaching assignment, potentially over several weeks or an entire school term.

If you are looking to move away from part-time or irregular supply work and would prefer a more structured teaching position, this could be a useful opportunity to discuss your options.
