English Tutor - Sefton
Location: Sefton
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced English Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Sefton.
The role would suit a confident educator who enjoys working closely with individual learners and can tailor lessons to develop their literacy, comprehension and written communication skills.
About the Role
- Provide structured 1:1 English tuition
- Plan sessions according to learner ability
- Develop reading, writing and comprehension skills
- Identify areas requiring additional support
- Use engaging and accessible teaching resources
- Build confidence and encourage participation
- Monitor learning and communicate progress
We're Looking For
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring English
- Strong knowledge of the relevant curriculum
- Experience working with children or young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching to individual needs
- QTS, PGCE or relevant teaching experience desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
- Right to Work in the UK
- Two professional references involving work with children
