Functional Skills Tutor - Liverpool

Location: Liverpool Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to provide individualised educational support to a learner in Liverpool.

The ideal candidate will be confident supporting learners who may have gaps in their education and will be able to deliver clear, structured sessions that develop practical skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver personalised Functional Skills tuition Support development in Maths and/or English Identify areas requiring additional support Plan accessible and engaging lessons Break down challenging concepts into manageable steps Encourage learner participation and progress Provide feedback on development

Requirements

Experience delivering Functional Skills tuition Strong knowledge of Maths and/or English Previous teaching or tutoring experience Experience supporting young people Excellent communication skills Patient, flexible and encouraging approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional child-related references
