About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Environmental Services Operative to contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for a large facility in Leeds . This role plays a critical part in the daily operations, ensuring that all public and private spaces meet high standards of hygiene and presentation. You will be responsible for a range of cleaning tasks, waste management, and basic maintenance checks, working within a team dedicated to upholding the reputation and functionality of the premises. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service in a public-facing or commercial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties across the facility, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and high-traffic zones.
• Manage waste collection, disposal, and recycling processes in accordance with local regulations.
• Clean and maintain all restroom facilities, ensuring adequate supplies and a high level of sanitation.
• Undertake floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and occasional buffing of designated areas.
• Respond to and address spillages and other immediate cleaning needs promptly and efficiently.
• Assist with basic upkeep and reporting of any facility maintenance issues requiring attention.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cleaning, janitorial services, or environmental services is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their safe use, and appropriate disposal methods.
• Ability to use various cleaning equipment and tools effectively.
• Physical capability to perform manual cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to achieving high cleanliness standards.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
