Estate Groundsman

About the Role

Our client is recruiting for a dedicated Estate Groundsman to maintain and enhance the extensive grounds of a significant property near Glasgow, Scotland . This role encompasses a wide range of horticultural and maintenance tasks, ensuring the landscape is kept to the highest standards. You will be involved in everything from lawn care and garden management to minor infrastructure repairs and assisting with forestry activities. This position is perfect for an individual with a passion for the outdoors, a strong practical skillset, and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall appeal and upkeep of the estate within the agriculture and forestry domain. You will work as part of a small, dedicated team responsible for this beautiful landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, flower beds, shrubberies, and other landscaped areas to high standards.
• Operate and maintain gardening equipment, including mowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers.
• Carry out general estate maintenance, such as fence repairs, path upkeep, and minor building works.
• Assist with tree planting, pruning, and basic woodland management tasks.
• Ensure the tidiness and safety of all external areas of the estate.
• Watering plants and managing irrigation systems as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, horticulture, or estate management.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of basic horticultural practices and plant care.
• A good level of physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
