Estate Manager (Rural)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly capable and experienced Estate Manager to oversee the comprehensive management of a significant rural estate near Cambridge . This multifaceted role requires overseeing land management, agricultural operations, property maintenance, staff supervision, and financial administration to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the estate. You will be responsible for preserving the estate's assets, enhancing its value, and ensuring all activities comply with legal and environmental standards. This is a senior position requiring broad experience and excellent leadership skills within the Cambridgeshire countryside.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the management of the estate's land, property, and agricultural activities.
• Oversee agricultural operations, including crop production, livestock management, and forestry.
• Manage all aspects of property maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements for residential and commercial buildings.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of estate staff, including groundskeepers, farmhands, and maintenance personnel.
• Manage the estate's budget, financial accounts, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Maintain excellent relationships with tenants, contractors, and local authorities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in estate management, property management, or a senior role in agriculture/land management.
• Strong understanding of agricultural practices, rural property law, and environmental stewardship.
• Excellent leadership, financial management, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in relevant software for property management and accounting.
• A degree or qualification in Estate Management, Agriculture, or a related field is advantageous.
