About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and versatile Estate Manager to oversee the comprehensive management of a significant rural estate near Derby . This pivotal role encompasses the strategic and operational oversight of all estate activities, including property maintenance, groundskeeping, agricultural tenancies, financial management, and staff supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring the estate is maintained to the highest standards, operates efficiently, and achieves its financial and conservation objectives. This is a senior position requiring strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a broad understanding of rural estate management principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the long-term management and enhancement of the estate's assets.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all estate properties, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Manage and motivate the estate’s operational team, including grounds staff, maintenance personnel, and any administrative support.
- Administer the estate budget, manage accounts, process invoices, and ensure financial prudence.
- Liaise with tenants, contractors, and professional advisors (e.g., surveyors, solicitors) on estate matters.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations pertaining to estate management.
- Oversee agricultural operations and tenancies, ensuring they align with the estate's overall vision and objectives within Derbyshire .
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior management role, ideally within rural estate management, property management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of property maintenance, groundskeeping, agricultural practices, and conservation principles.
- Excellent financial acumen, including budgeting, financial reporting, and contract management.
- Demonstrable leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and direct a team.
- Proficiency in relevant IT systems, including estate management software and standard office applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- A degree or professional qualification in Estate Management, Rural Estate Management, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
