Event Catering Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Event Catering Manager to join their team based in Sunderland , with a hybrid working model that allows for flexibility. You will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality catering services for a wide range of events, from corporate functions to private celebrations. This role requires a blend of operational expertise, client management skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, coordinate with kitchen and service staff, and ensure every event is a resounding success, contributing to the premier catering services in Tyne and Wear .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee all aspects of event catering, ensuring seamless delivery from initial client consultation to event completion.
• Develop detailed event proposals, menus, and costings in collaboration with clients and the culinary team.
• Manage and lead on-site catering teams, including service staff and kitchen assistants, ensuring professional execution of duties.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all necessary food, beverages, and equipment.
• Monitor event budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability for all catered events.
• Uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene practices throughout all operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in event management or catering management, with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered events.
• Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
• Strong leadership qualities with experience in managing and motivating diverse teams.
• Knowledge of current food trends, dietary requirements, and menu planning .
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
