Event Catering Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Event Catering Supervisor to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth execution of catering services at various events, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and team performance. You will work closely with the catering management team to coordinate staff, manage logistics, and maintain the highest standards of food and beverage service. This position requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering memorable culinary experiences, often involving a blend of on-site event management and remote planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise catering staff during events, providing clear direction and support to ensure service quality.
• Coordinate event setup, including food and beverage stations, decorations, and seating arrangements.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout event service.
• Manage inventory of catering supplies during events, reporting any shortages or issues.
• Liaise with clients on-site to address any immediate needs or concerns, ensuring a positive experience.
• Conduct post-event debriefs with the team to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Catering Supervisor or in a similar event-focused role.
• Strong understanding of food service and beverage operations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate staff.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet event schedules.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the catering and hospitality sector.
