About the Role

Our client is seeking a dependable and professional Experienced Courier Driver to join their expanding logistics network in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for the swift and secure transportation of parcels and documents to a diverse clientele throughout the Tyne and Wear region and beyond. This role demands a high level of responsibility, excellent time management, and a commitment to providing outstanding delivery services. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in courier work, a good geographical understanding of the area, and a proactive approach to problem-solving on the road, ensuring all deliveries are completed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Navigate efficiently to designated delivery locations using GPS and local knowledge.
• Safely load, transport, and unload a variety of packages, ensuring their security and integrity.
• Provide courteous and professional service to all customers encountered during deliveries.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned delivery vehicle.
• Accurately record delivery details, proof of delivery, and any exceptions encountered.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence, ideally with less than 6 penalty points.
• Demonstrable experience as a courier or delivery driver, preferably within a similar fast-paced environment.
• Strong geographical knowledge of Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently to meet delivery targets.
• Good physical fitness to handle lifting and moving packages of various sizes and weights.
