Exploration Geologist - North East Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Exploration Geologist to play a key role in their mineral exploration initiatives in the North East region, based in Sunderland . This position involves the planning, execution, and interpretation of geological fieldwork aimed at identifying and assessing new mineral deposits. You will work closely with the exploration team, utilizing geological mapping, sampling, and drilling data to define targets and contribute to strategic resource development. Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage field exploration programs, including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, and geophysical surveys.
• Analyze and interpret geological data, including core logging, assay results, and structural geology information.
• Identify and evaluate potential mineral targets, providing geological justifications for further exploration.
• Collaborate with drilling teams to ensure effective implementation of exploration drilling programs.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, including resource estimates and exploration progress updates.
• Maintain a strong awareness of safety protocols and environmental best practices during field operations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration geology , with a focus on field-based projects.
• Proficiency in geological mapping techniques and software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Experience with core logging , geochemical data analysis, and basic geostatistics.
• Ability to interpret geophysical data and integrate it with geological models.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills, comfortable working in remote field locations.
