Facilities Engineer - Upstream Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Facilities Engineer to support upstream operations in the Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK region. This role is responsible for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of surface facilities essential for oil and gas production. You will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of production facilities, contributing to the successful delivery of energy resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of process engineering principles as applied to oil and gas facilities, with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement within a challenging project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify process equipment, piping, and instrumentation for production facilities.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of new facilities and modifications.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure facility uptime and reliability.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to optimize facility performance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, production, and construction teams to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in facilities engineering for upstream oil and gas operations.
• Strong knowledge of process design, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and construction practices.
• Experience with maintenance management systems and CMMS software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
