Facilities Manager - Sports Complex

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operations, and safety of a large sports complex in Nottingham . You will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance staff, ensuring all facilities are kept to the highest standards, and overseeing projects related to upgrades and repairs. This role is vital for providing a safe, functional, and appealing environment for athletes, staff, and visitors, ensuring the smooth operation of all venue aspects, and contributing to the overall success of the sports complex.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all sports facilities, grounds, and buildings.
• Supervise and schedule a team of maintenance personnel, including cleaners, groundskeepers, and technicians.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee minor capital projects, renovations, and repairs, managing contractors and budgets.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and ensure minimal disruption to facility use.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within a sports or large public venue setting.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and health & safety regulations.
• Experience in managing a team of operational staff and external contractors.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related technical field are desirable.
