About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Family Support Officer to provide comprehensive assistance to families facing challenges in the Nottingham area. This hybrid role involves a mix of home visits and remote case management, working collaboratively with families to improve outcomes and well-being. You will assess needs, offer practical support, guidance, and connect families with relevant community resources, playing a vital role in strengthening family resilience. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of family needs, identifying strengths and areas requiring support.
- Develop and implement tailored family support plans in collaboration with family members.
- Provide practical assistance and emotional support to families navigating various difficulties.
- Liaise with schools, healthcare providers, and other agencies to ensure integrated support.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and outcomes in line with organizational policies.
- Organize and facilitate family group meetings and activities designed to enhance parenting skills and family cohesion.
Requirements
- Experience in a family support , social work, or related field, preferably with experience of home visiting.
- Understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and family dynamics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload effectively in a hybrid model.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and using relevant IT systems.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care or equivalent) are highly desirable.
