About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Family Support Officer to join their innovative Community & Social Care team, operating remotely. This critical role involves providing essential support, guidance, and early intervention services to families experiencing a range of challenges, from parenting difficulties to accessing essential services. You will work proactively to empower families, strengthen their capabilities, and improve outcomes for children and young people, all within a fully remote operational framework. This position offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote assessments of family needs, identifying strengths, challenges, and areas requiring support.
• Develop and implement tailored support plans, offering advice and practical assistance to families via virtual platforms.
• Facilitate online workshops and parenting programmes to enhance family functioning and communication skills.
• Liaise effectively with schools, health services, and other agencies to ensure integrated support for families.
• Maintain accurate digital case records and ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to families, building trust and fostering positive relationships remotely.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in social work, counselling, or a related field.
• Proven experience working with families in a support or advisory capacity.
• Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and family dynamics.
• Excellent digital communication skills, including proficiency with video conferencing and online collaboration tools.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and organise remote working schedules effectively.
• Demonstrated empathy, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
