Farm Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Farm Operations Manager to oversee their diverse agricultural operations in the Leeds area. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable day-to-day running of the farm, managing resources, staff, and production cycles. You will play a key part in implementing innovative farming techniques and maintaining high standards of animal welfare and crop quality, contributing directly to the farm's success and sustainability. This non-remote role requires a strong presence on-site to effectively manage all aspects of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all farm staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee daily operations, including planting, harvesting, livestock management, and machinery maintenance.
• Develop and manage the farm budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
• Implement and monitor best practices for crop rotation, pest control, and soil management.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in farm management or a similar agricultural leadership role.
• Strong understanding of modern agricultural techniques, crop science, and livestock husbandry.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with farm budgeting and financial management.
• A degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field is preferred.
