Farm Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and organized Farm Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of their agricultural operations in Bradford . This role is integral to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the farm, from crop planning and planting to harvesting and livestock management. You will be responsible for managing staff, optimizing resource allocation, and implementing best practices to maximize productivity and profitability. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring dedication and a deep understanding of modern farming techniques within West Yorkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual crop production plans, including selection of seeds, soil preparation, and pest/disease control strategies.
• Oversee the daily activities of farm labor, providing clear direction, training, and supervision.
• Manage the procurement and efficient use of farm resources, including equipment, machinery, fertilizers, and pesticides.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations on the farm.
• Monitor crop growth and health, making timely decisions to address any issues and optimize yield potential.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including planting, harvesting, yields, expenses, and labor.

Requirements

• Proven experience in farm management or a senior agricultural role.
• Strong understanding of crop production cycles, soil science, and pest management.
• Experience in managing and motivating a team of agricultural workers.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
