Farm Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a capable and experienced Farm Supervisor to oversee daily operations at their diverse agricultural holding near Derby . This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of farm workers, coordinate tasks, and ensure the efficient execution of planting, cultivation, harvesting, and livestock management activities. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and safety across the farm. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of agricultural practices and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the continued success of the farm in Derbyshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of farm staff, assigning tasks and ensuring their completion.
• Monitor crop growth, livestock health, and general farm conditions, reporting any issues to management.
• Ensure that all farm activities are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of planting, fertilizing, and harvesting schedules.
• Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of farm machinery and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, labour, and resource usage.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within agriculture or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of crop cultivation and/or livestock management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate farm machinery and a good understanding of its maintenance.
• Willingness to work flexible hours depending on seasonal demands.
• A qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related discipline is preferred.
