About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Network Planner to join their expanding operations team in Manchester . This role is crucial for the strategic development and expansion of their fiber optic network infrastructure, ensuring optimal deployment and capacity planning to meet growing customer demand. You will be responsible for creating detailed network designs, assessing feasibility, and coordinating with various stakeholders to bring fiber optic projects to fruition. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong understanding of fiber optics and spatial planning to contribute to a vital infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new fiber optic network deployments.
- Develop detailed fiber optic network plans and route designs using specialized GIS and CAD software.
- Estimate material, labor, and equipment costs for network construction projects.
- Coordinate with local authorities, property owners, and construction teams to secure necessary permits and access.
- Ensure network designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company best practices.
- Maintain and update network documentation, including splice records, as-built drawings, and asset inventories.
Requirements
- HND or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in fiber optic network design and planning, preferably within a telecommunications company.
- Proficiency with network planning software, such as AutoCAD, GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS), and fiber design tools.
- Understanding of fiber optic cable types, splicing techniques, and network components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liascle with diverse teams and stakeholders.
