Job Description
Field Operations Supervisor – Community Equipment Logistics Littlehampton, West Sussex | £32,000 per annum | Mon–Fri (07:00 - 15:30)
Want a role where you lead from the front and your work helps people stay safe in their own homes?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established medical equipment specialist for a working supervisor at their West Sussex base. You’ll split your time between running a mobile crew and getting behind the wheel yourself, so that vital mobility and care products reach people across the county safely, on time and to a high standard.
You’ll be in charge of a group of technician drivers who drop off, set up, fix, retrieve and service equipment in private homes, residential care, NHS wards and schools. If you’ve run a delivery, transport or field service crew before and you enjoy busy, people-focused work, this could be your next step.
What your days will involve
🔹 Guiding, mentoring and motivating your crew, and setting the bar for professionalism and courtesy 🔹 Keeping the vehicles roadworthy by managing servicing timetables and weekly safety inspections 🔹 Running on-the-road spot checks on driving quality, how the team treats clients, and productivity 🔹 Holding end-of-day reviews and making sure every outstanding job from the day before is finished and logged correctly 🔹 Producing daily and weekly performance data to drive improvements 🔹 Working with stores and the client support team to hit agreed service targets every time 🔹 Helping the Operations Manager run weekly team meetings 🔹 Helping to plan rotas, map out efficient routes and share out jobs fairly 🔹 Acting as the go-to contact for crew problems, client worries and day-to-day questions 🔹 Making sure the team follows safe lifting practice, hygiene and infection-prevention rules, protection of vulnerable adults, and workplace safety law 🔹 Welcoming, training and signing off new technician drivers
What you’ll bring
✅ A track record of supervising people in transport, distribution, fleet or mobile service work ✅ Good knowledge of inventory management, supply chain workflows and route optimisation ✅ Clear communication and a genuine commitment to great service ✅ A full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years, with no more than 6 penalty points ✅ Comfort using digital tools and operational software ✅ Sound grasp of workplace safety and regulatory standards
What’s in it for you
💷 £32,000 basic 📅 Weekday-only schedule, no weekends 🏦 Workplace pension 🛡️ Death-in-service cover 🌴 Up to 33 days’ annual leave including public holidays, plus up to 5 extra unpaid days if you want them 🎁 Access to a staff benefits platform with over 200 savings and offers
Who you’ll be working for
Our client works alongside the NHS, supplying products that help people keep their independence and live comfortably at home. That covers everything from walking frames and mobility aids to specialist kit like adjustable care beds, patient lifting systems and pressure-relief equipment. Their team also fits small home modifications such as support bars and stair rails
