Field Service Engineer - Telecoms

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Field Service Engineer to join their expanding operations in Cardiff . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at various client sites. This position demands excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to providing exceptional on-site support. You will be the face of our client to their customers, ensuring seamless operation of critical telecom systems and contributing to customer satisfaction through expert technical service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission new telecom equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on existing infrastructure to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring they are fully operational.
• Document all service activities, including installation details, repairs, and maintenance records.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations while working on-site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar technical support role in the telecoms industry .
• Strong understanding of telecommunications hardware, including base stations, antennas, and associated networking components.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel to various sites within the Cardiff area and surrounding regions.
