About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is fundamentally a remote-first position , focusing on providing essential technical support and maintenance for complex systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of equipment deployed across various client sites, often requiring remote diagnostics and troubleshooting before on-site interventions are deemed necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for an independent engineer who excels at problem-solving from a distance and can effectively manage their workload and communication channels to deliver exceptional service without the need for a central office presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems and equipment.
- Schedule and execute planned maintenance and repair activities, primarily through remote access and guided on-site assistance where required.
- Maintain detailed and accurate service reports, including remote access logs and incident resolutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand issues, provide updates, and coordinate support efforts.
- Utilize remote monitoring tools to proactively identify potential system failures and implement preventative measures.
- Order and manage necessary spare parts for on-site interventions, ensuring timely delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems relevant to industrial equipment.
- Proficiency with remote access tools and diagnostic software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in engineering disciplines.
