Supporting both the Civil and Military markets in the UK, Ireland and across sub-Saharan Africa, the company's UK facility in Fareham is the European Maintenance Centre Hub (EMCH) for the Safran Helicopter Engines group, performing level 1 to 3 maintenance/repairs on Arriel, Arrius, Makila and RTM322 engines either onsite or at our customers' facilities.
Alongside the EMCH and with a broad customer base in both the fixed wing and rotary wing markets, Safran's experienced team of technical and support staff are also committed to delivering excellence in the Manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of complex products such as air starters, air producers, auxiliary power units and oil pumps. We are very focused on delivering these products and services to meet all our customer requirements with particular attention to turnaround time performance.
As Field Service Team Leader - Engine Maintenance, you will lead a team of technicians within our Civil Maintenance Centre, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of engine maintenance activities. Combining hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, you will oversee daily operations, drive performance against quality, cost, and delivery targets, and support both on-site and customer-facing maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of technicians, managing workloads, training, resources, and day-to-day operations to ensure customer and business objectives are achieved. Perform and certify Level 1-3 maintenance on Safran helicopter engines, ensuring all work is completed in line with airworthiness, quality, and regulatory requirements. Drive operational performance through effective planning, KPI management, continuous improvement initiatives, and a strong focus on turnaround time, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Ensure all maintenance records, certification, and release documentation are completed accurately while promoting HSE, QRQC, and 5S best practices throughout the operation. Proven leadership experience within an aerospace, engineering, or maintenance environment. Recognised Aerospace Engineering qualification or equivalent. Strong understanding of aviation maintenance regulations and engine overhaul activities. Ability to interpret technical maintenance documentation, including EMMs, MTIs, IPCs, CMMs, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives. Strong IT skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and lead a team.
