About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to service and maintain commercial equipment for their clients across Nottingham and surrounding areas. This hands-on role involves travelling to client sites to perform installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs on specialized commercial machinery. You will be the primary technical point of contact for clients, ensuring their equipment operates reliably and efficiently, thereby contributing to their business continuity. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, excellent customer service, and a commitment to quality workmanship, all performed at client locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, set up, and commission new commercial equipment at client premises.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with commercial equipment.
- Carry out necessary repairs, replacing parts as needed, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
- Provide clear and concise technical support and advice to clients regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintain detailed service reports, inventory of parts, and customer interaction logs via a mobile device.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role, with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Experience working with commercial-grade equipment (e.g., industrial machinery, food service equipment, specialised systems).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- A valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel regularly to client sites.
